ION Mathematics is a precision-engineered fountain pen celebrating the equations and mathematical relationships used to describe pattern, quantity, space and change.

The design brings together a curated collection of mathematical equations drawn from geometry, algebra, trigonometry, calculus and statistics. From the Pythagorean theorem and equations defining the area and volume of geometric forms to differentiation, averages and trigonometric relationships, each represents part of the mathematical language used to understand and describe the world around us.

Engraved across the surface of the pen, these equations transform abstract mathematical ideas into a permanent, tactile object designed to be carried and used every day.

Precision-machined from Grade 5 aerospace titanium or anodised aluminium, every ION Mathematics is individually machined, engraved and assembled in small batches. The result is a functional writing instrument that combines engineered precision with an appreciation for the elegance, logic and universality of mathematics.

Compatible with standard international ink cartridges and converters, ION Mathematics is designed for daily use while remaining a highly collectable object for mathematicians, engineers, scientists, educators and those fascinated by the patterns and principles that shape our understanding of the world.

Each pen is supplied with a paper authentication certificate as standard. Aluminium and Grade 5 titanium authentication certificates are available separately through the Authentication Works page.

All Compact pens are supplied with a double-threaded barrel as standard. If you would like a double thread on any other size, please contact us using the form, quoting your order number.
