ION Typography is a precision-engineered fountain pen celebrating the art, structure and visual language of typography — a discipline where letterforms, characters and carefully considered arrangements shape the way we communicate.

The design brings together a curated collection of letterforms, typographic characters, punctuation, numerals and specialist symbols. Familiar forms sit alongside more unusual elements, exploring the visual relationships between type, proportion, spacing and composition that define the craft of typography.

Engraved across the surface of the pen, these elements transform the working vocabulary of the typographer and graphic designer into a permanent, tactile object designed to be carried and used every day.

Precision-machined from Grade 5 aerospace titanium or anodised aluminium, every ION Typography is individually machined, engraved and assembled in small batches. The result is a functional writing instrument that combines engineered precision with an appreciation for typography, graphic design and the enduring craft of visual communication.

Compatible with standard international ink cartridges and converters, ION Typography is designed for daily use while remaining a highly collectable object for graphic designers, typographers, printers, writers and those fascinated by the visual language of the printed word.

Each pen is supplied with a paper authentication certificate as standard. Aluminium and Grade 5 titanium authentication certificates are available separately through the Authentication Works page.

All Compact pens are supplied with a double-threaded barrel as standard. If you would like a double thread on any other size, please contact us using the form, quoting your order number.

Supplied without a logo as standard. Optional end cap engraving may be requested after purchase.
