Introducing RELIC 01: LIBERTY — the inaugural piece in a series of limited metal artworks by Charles Lethaby.

Each RELIC is individually machined, finished and resolved by hand. LIBERTY is created in two material editions: one in anodised aluminium and one in Grade 5 titanium. Each material edition is strictly 1/1 and will not be reproduced.

LIBERTY presents an enduring symbol of independence, distilled into a precise and permanent material form. The image is engraved directly into the metal rather than applied to its surface, becoming an integral part of the object itself.

The surface is carefully treated to create a restrained interplay of light and shadow. Fine details emerge gradually as the piece is viewed from different angles, revealing new characteristics as its relationship with the surrounding light changes.

Sized to the proportions of a traditional baseball card, each piece measures approximately 89 × 64 mm, translating a familiar and collectible format into a permanent material form.

Once either material edition is acquired, that edition of RELIC 01: LIBERTY will never be produced again.
